Anne, Jean-Luc and their guest house

Le Passagran, your guest house in Boën-sur-Lignon, was born from a common dream, that of creating and managing a total, unusual and high-quality welcoming place. This is how Anne and Jean-Luc, the 2 directors, decided to settle down in the region Loire, in Forez, and to embark joyfully on this project.

Here is a small explanation of the name Passagran:
A Passagran is an old wine measure in the local dialect, that let remember us that Boën-sur-Lignon is located in an AOC-Wineyard, Les Côtes du Forez, an the talented winegrowers will welcome you during your stay in our region with a "bienvenue" or they could also say "boënvenue"! :-)

Accommodation inspired by Slow Tourism

With their guest house, Anne and Jean-Luc wanted to live and make this place live as a real experience where their future customers, themselves and local actors would be intimately linked. It is the "Slow Tourism" movement that inspired them. The Art of Traveling by taking their time to fully immerse themselves in a territory, that of the vineyards of the Côtes du Forez, a small AOC vineyard that Anne and Jean-Luc are very fond of. The precious work of the new winegrowers in the area is to be promoted, for sure.

An ideal guesthouse for visiting the region

Anne and Jean-Luc have imagined that their guests could, in a very special way, on mopeds or Citroën 2CV convertible vintage car with driver, discover and set off on an adventure on the small departmental roads, pleasant touring on the Monts du Forez or in the Forez plain before relaxing in the wellness area: their Japanese spa. Motorcyclists could also easily find shelter at home since they like the roads of the region and we will be able to provide them with 1 secure garage and 1 parking space (depends on availability).

...and if you are bigger travelers, Boën is the ideal stopover! Halfway between the North and the South of France an for foreign guests halfway to reach the Atlantic Ocean. Have a charming break on your holiday journey.

Owners passionate about nature and culture

Jean-Luc, a former chef in the Var, having managed several hotel establishments on the Côte d'Azur, has since rejoiced every morning as he walks through the plain of Astrée, its ponds, its bocage, its herons and the feeling freedom he then feels. From the South of France, he brought back his jovial mood and taste for the French art of living, gastronomy and the smell of stoves crackling in the kitchen.

From Nice, Anne brought back her love of beautiful homes, interior decoration, her appetite for Culture and Art. In particular, it is the pictorial movement of “L’école de Nice” and its artists such as Sosno, Ben, Klein, Chubac or Villeglé who will have inspired her to develop her Passagran. The Nice school…, of course, since she was a school principal in Nice for 20 years! The blue chair (similar to the famous chairs you can see in front of the sea in Nice while walking along the "Promenade des Anglais") is in the entrance and also bears witness to her biography, which she likes to share.

But in Boën, Anne also rediscovered her origins, the smell of the vineyards and the harvest, the sound of the church of her childhood or the happy nostalgia of the shadows of the lime trees which lengthen on summer evenings….
